Advance Seat Reservation – Terms & Conditions

Advance Seat Reservation is complimentary for:

  • Passengers booked on Business Class.
  • Passengers booked on Economy Flex fare family.
  • For FlySmiles Platinum and Oneworld Emerald members (with effect from 24th July 2019)
  • Passenger traveling with infant, passengers eligible for wheelchair facility up to the cabin, will be given the relevant seats without an additional charge.

Passengers booked on Economy class RBD (K, W, M, E, L, R, X, V, S, N, Q, and O)

  • Are required to pay for their preferred seats which are marked as chargeable.
  • This facility is available on selected SriLankan operated flights for passengers holding SriLankan issued tickets and is not available on our partner/code share flights.
  • Charges are per seat, per flight sector basis.
  • Prices quoted are subject to change and may vary due to fluctuations in exchange rates.
  • Advance Seat Reservation charges are non-refundable for voluntary changes.

In the event of a situation where we are unable to provide you with your preferred seat due to any operational reason, we will provide you with an alternate seat and refund the amount paid for the specific seat.

Advance Seat Reservation is complimentary for un-occupied seats, when online check-in opens, from 48 hours prior to scheduled time of departure.

Please note that Economy Class seats reserved without a fee may be changed due to operational reasons.

Modifications to Advance Seat Reservation

  • In case of voluntary changes to your original schedule before departure, the Advance Seat Reservation will be transferable for the new flight, subject to availability. Route changes are not permitted.
  • In case of involuntary changes due to flight disruption, aircraft change, or for other operational, safety or security reasons, we may have to move you to a different seat; In such situations, you may request for a refund of the payment made for the seat confirmation.
  • Refund requests should be submitted through our online refund form.
  • Advance Seat Reservation charges will not be refunded in the event you travel in Business class due to a involuntary upgrade.
