Japan Airlines (JAL) is one of Japan's two primary flag carriers with high quality service provided throughout its fleet which includes 217 aircrafts. Its hubs are based in Tokyo’s Narita and Haneda International Airports. JAL has a broad domestic network with regional and international services to Europe, Canada, the United States and Australia, flying to nearly 85 destinations in 20 countries.

Accrual

Miles earned when FlySmiLes members travel on the below Booking classes on Japan Airlines and its affiliates.

International Flights

Domestic Flights (including NU)

• Miles cannot be earned when travel is on a booking class other than the ones above.
• Miles can be earned on Codeshare flights operated or marketed by 'Japan Airlines or its affiliate' with another oneworld airline.
• If travelling on a Japan Airlines (JL) marketed codeshare flight, miles will be accrued as above.

Example of Final level of miles that can be accrued:-

• Distance of flight x 100% (if Member travels on W) on JL marketed flight

You will need to:-

Provide your membership number at time when making a reservation and/or present your membership card at check-in for JAL international flights. For JAL domestic flights, you MUST quote your membership number at the time of reservation while membership number registration at airport check-in counter will not be accepted.

Claiming Missing Partner Miles

We request that you retain your tickets and boarding cards until such time your miles are credited to your account. If you do not receive the credits within six weeks kindly advise the FlySmiLes Service Centre on +94 19733 3333. Missing miles can only be claimed within 6 months (where applicable) of the original date of travel.
