Diabetic-Friendly Meal
Known as a hyperglycemic or a sugar-free diet, this meal is based on a daily intake of 1500 calories. Sugar substitutes are used when necessary.
Fruit Platter Meal
Known as a hyperglycaemic diet or sugar-free diet, this meal is based on a daily intake of 1500 calories. Sugar substitutes are used when necessary. If you wish to reserve a total Vegetarian meal, you may select one from our Vegetarian selection.
Gluten free meal
Gluten, a substance found in wheat, barley and rye is excluded in the preparation of this meal. However, we do include milk and dairy products, eggs, meat, fish, vegetables, fruit, rice and corn which are free from gluten.
Low fat meal
This is a polyunsaturated fat diet from which butter, cream, egg yolks, fried food and shellfish have been omitted. The meal consists of food containing a greater proportion of fibre and essential nutrients.
Non-lactose meal
This non-dairy lactose free meal excludes the milk of cows, goats and sheep as well as dairy products such as butter, cheese, cream, yoghurt, casein, whey, skimmed milk, non-fat milk solids and other milk derivatives.
Hindu non-vegetarian meal
All meats, with the exception of chicken and fish, are excluded from this meal. The Hindu meal includes a vegetarian option as well, for which characteristics of the Asiatic Vegetarian meal is followed. If you wish to reserve a total Vegetarian meal, you may select one from our Vegetarian selection.
Kosher meal
Our Kosher Meals are prepared according to the requirements of Jewish religious dietary requirements. They are available on all flights except those operating to Middle Eastern destinations.
Halal meal
All halal meals served on-board are made using chicken, lamb and beef, prepared in keeping with the halal method.
Asian / Hindu vegetarian meal
Asiatic/Subcontinent vegetarian dish with spices. Mainly includes rice and curry and a limited amount of dairy products.
Vegetarian Jain meal
The Jain vegetarian meal is a pure vegetarian meal that does not include any root vegetables such as ginger, garlic, onion, potato, carrot, beet and radishes. Contents are restricted to fresh fruits and stem vegetables that grow above the ground.
Kids meal
We believe in providing a varied and a healthy diet for children with salt and sugars added in their natural form. There are two key age ranges for which we cater:
* 1 to 6 years * 7 to 12 years
Infant / baby meal
A standard quantity of processed baby food is available on all SriLankan long-haul services on request. Special baby meals should preferably be requested at the time of booking. Specific brands of milk powder and other infant food requirements must be carried onboard by the parent as necessary.
Vegan vegetarian meal
Meat, poultry, fish and shellfish are excluded from this meal. Meat by-products such as lard, suet, gelatine, meat stock and gravy are also avoided. There are no dairy products and no eggs in this meal. A continental menu with the inclusion of plant derived food products suitable for all vegans and vegetarians; cereals, vegetables, fruits, pulses, nuts, seeds, dried fruits, yeast extracts and soya are used in this meal.
