Colombo December 24, 2017: SriLankan Airlines regrets that unforeseen thick ground fog in Abu Dhabi UAE last night (Dec 22) led to the closure f the airport and diversion of UL207 to Al Ain Airport. Due to the inability of accommodating the passengers there and with Abu Dhabi suffering extended delays, the aircraft was repositioned to Muscat. Due to Crew duty time limitations it was forced to stay there overnight.
We realize this has disrupted the holiday plans of many of our customers, which we regret. The unseasonal fog conditions in the UAE have led to many disruptions over the past few days and SriLankan is doing its utmost to recover the situation.
