‘Check-in online’ is a facility offered by SriLankan Airlines where passengers can check-in within 2 - 48 hours prior to the departure of the flight from wherever you are prior to going to the airport using our website.
Online check-in enables you to select your preferred seats, update your travel preferences, access our additional services and also print your boarding pass. This is a great way to avoid long queues at the airport.
Most airports have a different check in point for passengers who have booked online to make their travels even more convenient.
Anyone can use the online check-in facility except for Unaccompanied Minors, Pregnant Mothers, Wheel Chair Passengers, passengers who require special medical assistance and Passengers who require special assistance. You only need your ticket reference number and your last name to do so.

What time does online check-in open and close?
Online check-in is available between 48 to 2 hours prior to the scheduled departure of a flight
What documents do I need to use the online check-in service?
You only need your Passport, the Eticket number or Booking Reference to make use of our online check-in services.
How do I check in online using an e-ticket?
The online check-in facility is available on the booking widget of our website. Simply enter your ticket number and your last name. Login and proceed.
Where can I find my ticket number/booking reference?
The e-ticket will be emailed to you at the time of the booking and your ticket number will be indicated on this document. Similarly, if you want to find your ticket number and you happen to have your booking reference with you, you can use the “Manage My Booking” feature to find your ticket number. Alternatively you can contact the nearest ticket office for assistance.

How do I get my boarding pass after checking in online?
Once you have checked in online, you can either print your boarding pass, email it to your email address or save it on your mobile phone.
However, please note that at certain airports, you are required to carry a Boarding Pass issued by the airline at the airport check-in counter instead of a home printed Boarding Pass as per Airports Authority & Emigration requirements. Click here for more details.
Can I use online check-in for other passengers in my travelling party?
You can. However, you must have all the travel documents and the relevant information of all the passengers with you at the time of booking.
What about check-in online for return / onward flights?
Online check-in for return flights can only be completed 48 hours before flight departure and after you have departed on the first sector of your flight.
However, if one of your sectors is with another airline and you were not able to check in successfully on Srilankan.com, you will need to visit the other airline’s website in order for you to check-in.
What happens if I experience a problem while checking in online?

Please note that you may encounter issues at online check-in if your passport is not valid up to a minimum of six months.
What if I fail to check-in online on time?
Not to worry, you can always be present at the airport 3 hours prior to the departure of the flight and check-in at the counter.
