What We Do

SriLankan School Green Club had their first field visit to Nithya Paper and Boards Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, Horana on 20th December 2016 as part of their environmental educational process. The objective of this visit is to exposes the students of Andiambalama Maha Vidyalaya to gain much needed hands-on experience in paper recycling related processes in order for them to develop their own paper recycling programme at school.

SriLankan Environment Unit together with SriLankan Cares held the first educational programme for its School Green Club members, who are the students of Andiambalama Maha Vidyalaya on the 19th October at the SriLankan Aviation College.

Next generation has a key role to play in preserving the fading charm of Earth’s Greenery, hence the right culture should be created during school days to ensure that they grow up to be individuals who work towards preserving the core essence of Mother Nature.

SriLankan Airlines celebrated its 2016 World Environment day with launching number of significant initiatives aimed to enhance a wide range of efforts at environmental conservation with the theme of ‘Going Wild for Life’.

SriLankan Airlines, which has gained a worldwide reputation as a pioneer of conservation in the global air transport industry, spread the message of environmental protection among its passengers at Bandaranaike International Airport during Earth Hour 19th March 2016, with a uniquely innovative effort.

As a directive by the Ministry of Transport and Aviation, marking the first anniversary of assuming office of His Excellency the President, Mr. Maithripala Sirisena, SriLankan Human resource division, Environment team and SriLankan Cares jointly organized a tree planting campaign and a stationery donation programme for a primary school in Andiambalama on the 08th January 2016.
