Beach Cleaning Campaign - Negombo

As the World Ocean Day unraveled, SriLankan Green Team joined with Jetwing Hotels to conduct a special beach cleaning session at Negombo beach. The volunteers from SriLankan workforce were enthusiastic in taking part in the event, despite the day being a Sunday and having to commence the project as early as 7 o’clock in the morning.
SriLankan Airlines also handed over special garbage bins which was refurbished by SriLankan Airlines’ properties division to the representatives from Jetwing Beach to be used for waste disposal process at the beach. The project was a successful one where the teams blended together and worked as a single force to cleanse the beach with their combined force. The two teams combined together to collect a staggering waste weightage of 700kgs within a one hour. The SriLankan Environment unit & Management of Jetwing Beach appreciate the efforts of all participants who came to the event despite it being a Sunday morning.
